Step-by-step guides for staff using the Taybl Staff App for bookings: checking in guests, no-shows and table changes.
Viewing Bookings
See today's bookings at a glance from the Guestlist, and act on each one without leaving the list. Steps 1. Tap "Guestlist" at the bottom of the screen. 2. 3. Use the date strip at the top to jump between days - today is highlighted, and you can scroll or use the arrows to move further ahead or back. 4. Bookings are grouped into sections such as "Arriving Soon" and "Later Today", so you can see who's due next. 5. Each booking shows the time, guest name, party size, sitting, table, status (such as Pending or Confirmed), and any notes like allergies or special requests. 6. Use the "Check In", "No-Show" and "Edit Table" buttons on a booking to act on it directly from the list. Tips The Guestlist only shows the venue you're currently switched into - use "Switch Venue" from the More menu if you need to check a different site. Notes like allergies, wheelchair access or a special occasion are shown directly on the booking, so it's worth a quick check before the guest arrives. Tap "New Booking" at the top of the Guestlist to add a walk-in or phone booking without leaving this screen.
Checking In a Guest
Mark a guest as arrived from the Guestlist, and undo it in a couple of taps if you check in the wrong booking. Steps 1. Go to Guestlist and find the guest's booking. 2. Tap "Check In" on that booking. 3. 4. The status changes to "Checked In" straight away - there's no confirmation step, so double-check you've tapped the right booking before you tap it. 5. If you checked in the wrong guest, tap "Undo Checked In" on that booking to put it back to its previous status. Tips You can undo a check-in at any point during the booking, not just straight away - so if someone's plans change, you're not stuck with the wrong status. Checking a guest in doesn't seat them at a table - use "Edit Table" if you also need to change where they're sitting.
Marking a Guest as a No-Show
Flag a booking where the guest didn't turn up, and undo it if it was marked by mistake. Steps 1. Go to Guestlist and find the guest's booking. 2. Tap "No-Show" on that booking. 3. 4. Confirm by tapping "Mark No-Show" on the pop-up. 5. The booking is now flagged "No-Show". If it was marked in error, tap "Undo No-Show" on that booking to put it back to its previous status. Tips Marking a booking as a no-show is different from cancelling it - the booking stays on record, just flagged as a no-show, which helps managers track patterns for repeat no-shows. Give it a few minutes past the booking time before marking a no-show, in case the guest is just running late.
Changing a Guest's Table
Move a booking to a different table straight from the Guestlist. Steps 1. Go to Guestlist and find the booking you want to move. 2. Tap "Edit Table" on that booking. 3. A list of tables opens under "Choose table(s)", with the guest's current table already ticked. This list only shows tables that can actually take the booking - it's already filtered by things like party size, so every option here is a valid swap. 4. 5. Untick the current table and tick the new one (or tick more than one if the booking needs multiple tables). 6. Tap "Save" to confirm the change, or "Cancel" to leave the table as it was. Tips If a table doesn't appear on the list, it's usually because it can't take the party - check the size and area rather than assuming it's a bug. You can tick more than one table if a large party needs to be spread across a couple of tables pushed together.
